Hey all, I'm a college senior and a weekend warrior at my local casino's 1/2 game. Next semester, I'll have a super easy class schedule, so I wanna take the opportunity to do a little bit of traveling on the weekends while playing poker. I go to school in St. Louis, so I was planning on some trips to some nearby cities like Chicago, Kansas City, Memphis, Nashville, etc. What are the best casinos to hit up in the Midwest? Like I said, I typically play 1/2, but might have a sufficient bankroll for shot-taking at 2/5 by next semester. Thanks in advance!
And by big city I mean Nashville. I'm sitting on the balcony of a downtown diner, overlooking the city, or what I can see of it. And once again I feel alone. I've smoked at least a pack worth of cigs today and it's still not been enough to make me ok, it's just kept me going. People keep coming up to the balcony, a lot of times either couples or just people with their friends, and it's a bit depressing. It's 3:15 and once again I feel alone. I felt alone like this when I was here before. Even though I have family, they're not here. Even though I have animals I love, they're not here either. Even though I have a couple friends(literally like 2), I don't feel very connected to them. I wanted to do something tonight. Something besides just playing video games alone in my room. But there's not really anything I can do here at age 20, especially when alone. I thought about doing a little gambling again, but I can't find any poker tables and the nearest casino is 2 1/2 hours away. I thought about just driving the couple hours to the casino and maybe I would have a good time doing something I like. But again, apparently you have to be 21, at least in that state. It's like I'm stuck again. I felt stuck when I was here before. I was stuck, I was alone, and I felt like I couldn't do anything about it. History seems to be repeating itself. And I can't really say that it's from a lack of change. I've tried to change the most important things. I'm not getting high anymore, I'm not(or wasn't) depressed. Those were the main things and I tried my best to change them, but either it wasn't enough or history is destined to repeat itself. Am I then destined to repeat this pattern of loneliness time and time again? That can't be true. I just don't know what I can do to change it really, I barely know how to socialize anymore. I can talk to people now if they talk to me with not too many problems besides some stuttering, but besides that I can't really do anything. I can't meet people. I can't make new friends. I can't find a girl, but honestly that's a whole other issue. It feels like they're either already taken, or if they're not they're not looking at me, they're looking at the handsome, well put together, strong looking guy next to me. I mean figureatively, but also sometimes literally I'll notice this. There's just too many options. I'm attractive enough, I'm just not the guy girls are dreaming about if you know what I mean. I wish I could say I'm at least just the friend figure to them, but really I'm not even that cause I don't even have any girl-friends. Like I was saying though, I'm not the guy most girls think about when they think about their dream guy or even just someone they think about in general. I at least had a chance in highschool cause I went to a very small highschool, so compared to a lot of people I was at least decent. But now, girls can just have the pick of the litter it would seem. They don't pick me cause when they look at me they just see some quiet guy in sweatpants and red vans, who looks like he's just struggling to make it through the day, cause a lot of the time, he is. That's not who they want, and I can't really blame them. When I'm looking at girls now I try to see the ones with flaws, the ones that look like me, cause I'd like them to know someone sees them. Anyway, it's getting chilly and I'd better find another place to sort of camp out. Once again I feel alone in the big city.
