Many of the big retail brokerages, including Robinhood, route a lot of their customer orders to Citadel Securities, so it ends up seeing a large percentage of retail trades in U.S. stocks. It can see if retail traders are mostly buying or mostly selling or mostly pretty balanced. You might expect—I certainly expected—to see that retail traders were buying more than they were selling this week. The stock seemed to be rocketing up on frenzied retail sentiment, and the posters on WallStreetBets were all claiming that they would never sell and keep buying until it hit $1,000.So, just to be clear about this, there is massive institutional money on both sides of this trade, and retail is a toddler sitting at the world series of poker.
But here’s what Citadel Securities’ retail flow looked like in GameStop this week: 1
Graphic here
Retail investors were net buyers on Monday but net sellers for the rest of the week (through yesterday), and all in all quite balanced: About 49.8% of retail orders (that Citadel Securities saw) were to buy, and 50.2% were to sell.
What do you make of that? One reading would be: “Retail investors on Reddit might have started the GameStop rally, but they’re not piling into this stock now, and the price action this week is coming from professionals.” Or as one Twitter user put it, “past the retail ignition, the rocket ship was mostly intra-fast money warfare.”
Hello! So, as many of you already know, No Time to Die will be Daniel Craig's last movie as James Bond. The actor has been around since 2006's Casino Royale (for over fourteen years), so it was about time that the "Craig era" ended. After Craig leaves, the franchise can go two routes: following the Craig movies with a new actor or rebooting the series with a new version of the character. submitted by oscarredfield to JamesBond [link] [comments] I very much prefer the second route, since I feel Craig's Bond should be wrapped up by the end of No Time to Die, letting a new version of 007 get in the ground. So, with my very little knowledge of how Reddit works (I'm very new to this), I've decided to make a raw pitch of how I would like to see a new version of James Bond. I hope this doesn't end up being a TL;DR post, but here we go! Cast To begin this pitch, I've decided to introduce you to my own cast for the 007 universe. I don't have a clear idea on specific characters or secondary actors, but I am very decided on who I want to play the part of the main characters. · JAMES BOND - Richard Madden https://preview.redd.it/4nfwppeutvw51.jpg?width=1275&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f2e957f27bbc6163d878b53fa3d9440009c4647 This is the one I'm most confident of. Since I watched him on Game of Thrones and after following his career and public appearances, I could see no other as James Bond. Richard Madden is young (34 years old at the moment) and could play Bond for many years to come. He also has the style, charm, looks and feel of the world's best agent, so he could play a very fleshed out, stylish version of the character that also feels human and vulnerable. His role in HBO's epic fantasy has proven him to be a worthy actor, and one who could take the mantle of one of Hollywood's most iconic roles with enough value. So, yes, as much as I'd also like other actors, Richard Madden IS James Bond. · M - Idris Elba https://preview.redd.it/8onh7v7puvw51.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a58c637ee5a82e387212be54dfbcac390401f33a Yes, yes. I know Idris Elba is many people's favourite choice for James Bond. But to me, Elba, who is now 48 years old, would be a much better fit for 007's instructor and guide, M. The role, which was previously depicted by the iconic portrayal of Judi Dench and has lately been taken by the magnificent Ralph Fiennes, requires someone who equals confidence, strength and style. Both Dench and Fiennes have perfectly matched these characteristics, and I'm very confident that Elba does too. We've previously seen him in some sort of "mentor" slash "boss" role in Pacific Rim, so imagining him as M is pretty easy. · Q - Phoebe Waller-Bridge https://preview.redd.it/eu6yt3tdvvw51.jpg?width=940&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a240a98d865e4d321a4ea949443765c482d5e147 Q was a tough choice for me for a long time. First I wanted Benedict Cumberbatch, but it felt too obvious and he's already very busy with his Doctor Strange role. Then I thought of Jane Levy, but she lacks the qualities that I was looking for in a character like Q. But this year I saw Fleabag and, when thinking of fancasting Q, it was clear as water: Phoebe Waller-Bridge. I always think of Q as this smart-ass, witty, kind of socially weird character that is all brain but has no real skill for people. Waller-Bridge is an absolute hurricane of wit, is clever as hell and has this weird feeling to her that makes her both strange and attracting. Put a pair of glasses on her and there you go, the perfect Q. For this version, I'd have Q be not only the one that creates Bond's gadgets, but also a more "guy-in-the-chair" type of character. So... yes, Phoebe is my favourite choice for obvious reasons. · Ben Mendelsohn - Dr. Julius No https://preview.redd.it/wk61kgthwvw51.jpg?width=1365&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=127b79d234af8c3ac81b157e0dcffc7b0f4557a5 So, while this reboot wouldn't be adapting Ian Fleming's Dr. No, I would very much like the movie to take back Bond's first cinematic villain in a new story. I know Ben Mendelsohn is always depicted as the "bad guy" in a story, but damn, he does it good. Mendelsohn has a very sinister feeling to him, but could also twist Dr. No's character to be a much more interesting villain in this reboot. So, while I'm not extremely confident on this choice (I thought of Tom Hiddleston first), this is for now my choice for the reboot's main villain. · JAWS - John Cena https://preview.redd.it/nxamxye5xvw51.jpg?width=2738&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e5e4fd9872e4cf80e0896f3dd128563cc3bdd4d Besides the main villain, I want a secondary baddie who plays a more physical role that can put Bond at risk in a fight. It felt pretty obvious right from the get-go that I'd take back one of 007's most legendary bad guys, Jaws, and I instantly thought of John Cena. While he's too much of a good guy, I believe Cena would be the perfect fit for a brute villain who's all muscles and not much brains, and who can have Dr. No's back as his number one man. Director The thought of who could be the new Bond director has been running through my mind for a looong time now. For a brief moment I thought of Christopher Nolan, but I feel like his approach would be very similar to Craig's movies, with a very grounded and realistic tone. And for this new 007 I want a more sci-fi oriented spy movie, just like his more classic adventures. Gadgets, impossible stunts and a kinda techy tone to it. So, for this movie, my pick is definitely Guy Ritchie. The guy can play with crazy elements, can do action scenes and balance drama and comedy like few others. I absolutely love his job in the Sherlock Holmes movies, and his Man from UNCLE movie proved he could NAIL a spy thriller movie. For the record, Matthew Vaughn would be my second choice. He's a fantastic director and has already touched the spy genre (you know what I'm talking about), so he'd be a good fit as well. Music So intense One of the most important elements of a 007 movie is the music. Not only the iconic "movie songs" that have welcomed artists such as Tina Turner, Adele or, most recently, Billie Eilish, but also the soundtrack as well. For the movie song, my definitive pick would be Arctic Monkeys. The band from Sheffield has proven they can neil the Bond tone with songs like Fir and the Thud, or their more recent album Tranquility Base + Casino, and they've already stated their interest on making a Bond theme. So there is no doubt: the authors of the smash hit Do I Wanna Know? should make the song for a James Bond reboot. As for the soundtrack itself, Michael Giacchino is the only one I can think of. He's had a pretty amazing career, composing the scores for movies such as Rogue One, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Doctor Strange, Star Trek and the upcoming The Batman movie, and has proven to be an incredibly versatile composer that can flesh out the tone of a movie with just a few notes. I'd absolutely love to hear a 007 soundtrack composed by him. Story pitch and conclusion I'm not very clear on what I'd do with the story of the movie, but I know I would like to have an unexperienced James Bond, maybe even telling some sort of origin story to him, and have him meet his allies for the first time. Of course, Dr. No would play a threat on a global scale, that would have Bond in the middle of a great test to prove his value as who would later be known as the world's greatest spy. With a cast like the one I've crafted, Guy Ritchie's vision and Giacchino/Arctic Monkeys on the music, I believe the movie would be interesting to say the least. Let me know what you think! |
submitted by Cyborg800_2004 to JamesBond [link] [comments] The film that successfully revived the Bond franchise. It has a great story, cast, and direction. If I may appear to have a negative slant, do not worry. GoldenEye is a great film and definitely in my top 5. However, I thought that rather than solely singing this film’s praises, I would discuss how Goldeneye was meant to win back the crowd after the failure of its predecessor, which I will bring up a lot, and how everything ended up going full circle. Licence To Kill, despite the love it gets now, especially from fans such as here on this subreddit, was divisive among critics and general audiences and is the lowest grossing Bond film in America when adjusted for inflation. I once read a comment saying that Americans had felt that Dalton “stole” the role from Brosnan and never warmed to him. Albert “Cubby” Broccoli stated, and I quote, “in making Bond an altogether tougher character, we had lost some of the original sophistication and wry humor… He’s not superhuman. He was, as Fleming insisted, a skilled professional: ruthless and sardonic in his work; gentle, witty, and stylish off duty. That was the way the public want and him and it’s clear we had to get back on that track. Back to a lighter touch, and with more fun and capers, like we had with the earlier Bonds. Elements of Dalton’s Bond do remain in GoldenEye’s script and there is a perfect balance between the seriousness of the last two films and the fun of the earlier films, something that was not as well done in future films. Pierce Brosnan makes his debut here and I feel that he never got a chance to distinguish himself as well as the other Bonds. Connery could be ruthless just as much as he could be charming, Moore was immediately funnier and more lighthearted than Connery, and Dalton was a more jaded, colder assassin. Brosnan’s Bond is a composite version of his predecessors; he is most similar to Connery in terms of charm and seriousness but also has Lazenby’s physical prowess, a strong emphasis on quips like Moore, and the introspectiveness that Dalton’s Bond brought. Brosnan plays the role very well, but he does not immediately put his own stamp on the character unlike his predecessors. Izabella Scorupco is pretty good as Natalya Simonova, playing a beautiful, but useful ally who factors strongly in the plot. The villains are well-casted, albeit a bit cartoonish. Sean Bean is great as the traitorous Alec Trevelyan 006, now called Janus. His bitterness with Bond and quest for revenge are interesting plot points, though they could have been expanded upon more. The hand-to-hand combat between him and Bond is quite brutal, setting the stage for Casino Royale’s fight scenes. Famke Janssen is over the top as Xenia Onnatopp, and that is why she is a memorable character. Her death feels a bit anti-climactic, but at least Bond delivers a satisfying post-modem one-liner. Alan Cumming is invincible as Boris. Enough said. Gotfried John is the odd one out with General Ourumov, who like General Orlov, does little to impress when compared to more interesting, colorful villains. The plot is reminiscent of the larger-than-life Bond films, but also inserts a more personal aspect with the rivalry between Bond and Trevelyan. Along with his relevance in a post-Cold War world, Bond’s assassin status is discussed, but it is done less subtly than previous films, something Skyfall repeated. The action scenes are memorable, with a pre-title sequence that immediately convinces the audience that Bond is back. The dam jump, while showing an obvious stunt double, is breathtaking and Bond running from a large army to catch a plane is a great moment. The next set-piece occurs an hour later with the Archives shootout and subsequent tank chase, with the Bond theme in its most classic form making its only appearance. Bond mowing down soldiers with an AK-47 has been criticized by some for trying to ape 90s action heroes, but it makes for a great sequence. The aforementioned fist fight is a low-key, but satisfying climax to the film. Martin Campbell made his directorial debut and I personally have mixed feelings with him. He made two great Bond films but also made Green Lantern, the first truly terrible film I saw in my childhood. According to him, he “wanted to get back more to the Connery-type stories. [He] wanted to make it gritter, slightly more based on reality than they have been in the past.” The 90s had seen many blue-collared heroes, “But there are no sophisticated antiheroes around. So [Campbell] made GoldenEye as a window for that kind of hero.” Brosnan’s Bond is less morally ambiguous than Dalton was in his films, as well as more larger-than-life, contrary to what Broccoli and Campbell said. While not exactly aware of some of the more immediate predecessors to his film, Campbell still did a good job in making a moodier looking film with the aid of cinematographer Phil Méheux. Eric Serra’s score tends to garner divided reactions. Like Michael Kamen’s score for Licence To Kill, it fits the film and adds to the atmosphere, but is not that good to listen on its own. In my opinion, it is one of the best non-Barry scores. GoldenEye is one of the most praised Bond films. It was adapted into an awesome video game, which I played through the 1964 GE/PD Edition emulator, which I may or may not be saying you should play. I do feel that the film’s status tends to get overshadowed by nostalgia for it being the first Bond film for an entire generation, as well because of the video game being one that aged very well, despite what game critics claim. It is a film that is good in all aspects, but never excels in one category like some of the other best Bond films. From Russia With Love is much superior in terms of supporting cast, On Her Majesty's Secret Service in cinematography and music, and Licence To Kill in set-pieces and lead. However, GoldenEye is a crowd-pleaser done right and probably more consistent in entertainment than those films. Like Goldfinger, GoldenEye is a film that its successors took the wrong lessons from and diminished in quality as a result. Campbell “never thought of the super-heroics in terms of undoing the more 'realistic' thing that Licence To Kill had attempted. [He and the other filmmakers just wanted to keep what’s great about Bond: the stunts and the humour. Bond has been successful for 40 years, so it’s obviously always got something right. It got just about everything right! So why f*** with it?” Unfortunately, this strong dedication to ticking boxes ultimately hurt Brosnan’s era. Tomorrow Never Dies, while a film that I love just as much as this one and is very overlooked, is another adaptation of the story You Only Live Twice told, albeit with a great 90s update. The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day had interesting premises, but tend to be regarded as weaker installments because of their unwillingness to take risks. After Licence To Kill failed back then, winning back the crowd was the best way to put the franchise on track. However, pandering to audience expectations and pulling back punches put the franchise in the same situation it was in when Dalton took over from Moore: having to win back audiences after an entry that came off as self-parody at times. To save the franchise again, Campbell had to do what Licence To Kill, one of two films he said were considered to be the low point of the franchise, did: return to Bond’s roots and deliver a harder-edged story that proved to be one of Bond’s most personal adventures. |

A casino’s game library can often make or break it. Being an Aspire Global operated online casino means that Winner’s Magic can offer their customers plenty of options not only when it comes to the number of games but also the number of different categories. Winner’s Magic offers seven categories where players can find games “Featured Games”, “New”, “Video Slots”, “Classic”, “Casino Games”, “Scratch Cards”, and “All Games”.The biggest category (if you disregard the “All Games” category) is the “Video Slot” category which includes over 400 games. These games are supplied to the casino by some of the most well-known and highly regarded game suppliers in the industry. Some of the most popular slot machine games include “Book of Dead”, “Fruity Friends”, “Wolf Riches” and “Aztec Gold”. These games are supplied by greats within the game supplier industry such as NetEnt, Microgaming, Play’N Go, PariPlay, and BetSoft. The “Video Slots” category also includes jackpot games such as “Bonanza”, “Aztec Gold – MEGAWAYS”, and “Royal Seven XXL”. When a winner hits a jackpot, other players will be able to see their success as Winner’s Magic has a banner with the latest winners on the side of the page that shows the games. Slot machines can also be found under the category “Classic”, which include titles considered classic slot machines. Some of the titles include “Royal Seven”, “Wild Elements” and “Hot Spin - Deluxe”. It is more and more popular today for game suppliers to create games inspired by the popular culture. There are games such as “Mission Cash” or “John Hunter and the Aztec treasure” who are reminiscent of character that exist in today’s popular culture (in this case they remind us of James Bond and Indiana Jones). Other games are not just inspired by popular culture but are a part of the franchise such as “Game of Thrones – online slot” or “Jumanji – Video slot”. For players interested in these types of games Winner’s Magic will not be a disappointment as these games and many more are available. Under the category “Casino games” players will be able to find a selection of top-rated table games with titles such as “Sapphire Roulette”, “Blackjack – Multihand VIP”, and “Baccarat”. This category also includes “Casino Patience” and “Football Studio”. The category includes close to 70 games and it is also under this category that players can find Live Casino games. The Live Casino Games transport the players from wherever in the world they are to a real casino with professional dealers and tables with plenty of other players. The Live Casino games are supplied by one of the most well-known Live Casino game suppliers on the market – Evolution Gaming. Evolution Gaming set themselves apart by not only offering top-quality games, but they also offer many of their games in different languages. Play Roulette in Finnish, German or Norwegian if you dare! The final category of games available at Winner’s Magic is “Scratch Cards”. This category includes over 60 games. Some of the most popular titles include “Hit The Bank”, “Wizard of all”, “Bingo”, and “Scratch N’ Roll”. The games in this category are all a bit different but what they have in common is that some scratching is required to reveal a win. We find it incredibly encouraging and exciting that a new casino such as Winner’s Magic offers their customer so many different options when it comes to games. We are also pleased to be able to inform our readers that this casino’s games are independently audited by iTech Labs to ensure that the results are random and fair, yet another point which we find to be very positive. >> Claim No Deposit Bonus Now << Winners Magic Casino Depositing and WithdrawingOne of the most important points, when a customer is looking for a new casino, is what payment methods are available for depositing and withdrawing. The online casino must offer their customer methods which are both more local like (Zimpler) and international like Credit/Debit Card.Winner’s Magic has taken this into account and therefore offer payment methods from the most well-known banking methods as well as some local banking methods. The minimum deposit is €10, and several currencies are accepted. For example, players can deposit Euros, Krona (Norwegian), as well as Canadian dollars and Pounds. The deposits almost exclusively take place instantly. Once the wagering requirements have been met and the player is ready to withdraw their winnings, there are several methods which can be used. The most common thing is that the method used to deposit is used to withdraw, the only exception to this is when the deposit method is not available to withdraw then the player can choose to for example have the money transferred via Bank Transfer. There is a pending time of 24 hours on all withdrawals. The maximum withdrawal is €7.000/month and the minimum withdrawal for most methods is €10. The limit is in our opinion slightly low but understandable due to the newness of this online casino. There are no fees on withdrawal which is something we appreciate. We believe that any casino that tries to make their banking methods as wide and accepting as possible have their customer’s best at heart, as can be seen by Winner’s Magic. Unfortunately, we do find that the withdrawal times are slightly slow as the fastest way to withdraw funds still requires three business days. This is not a problem limited to this casino but with most and is something we would love to see the industry change. Another point which we find great about this online casino is that it implements a 128-bit SSL encryption key on all sensitive data. This means that whatever private information is sent by the customer to the casino is protected and safeguarded from unauthorized eyes. The casino also works hard to prevent fraud and therefore can demand additional verification of identity from the customer. In the case of Sweden, all customers must verify having reached the legal gambling age of 18. The customer will then have up to 30 days to verify their age if this is not done within the time limit the customer’s account will be shut down. In our opinion, any casino that goes the length to abide by the rules and regulations set up by different countries to safeguard the players, are good casinos. >> Claim No Deposit Bonus Now << |
In the world of playing cards, there are some big names and recognizable entities like United States Playing Cards and their Bicycle brand of playing cards. Other leading figures in the industry include successful publishing companies like European-based Cartamundi. There are also several smaller Taiwan-based manufacturers that have been making an impact, such as Legends Playing Cards, Expert Playing Cards, and Hanson Chien Production Company. submitted by EndersGame_Reviewer to playingcards [link] [comments] But even the big names had to start small, and once in a while something small makes some explosive sounds to catch our attention. Today let's take a look at Taiwan Playing Card Company (TWPCC), which is distributed by BombMagic, and first caught my eye with the colourful fireworks of their Casino Royale deck. TAIWAN PLAYING CARD COMPANY When I first came across the beautiful looking Casino Royale deck, I started crawling down a rabbit hole which eventually led me to Hanson Bomb, founder of BombMagic. BombMagic started in 2007 as a small studio that focused on the study of performing magic, and the slogan they came up with for their tenth anniversary in 2017 gives an indication of their original focus: "Born for Magic, Beyond the Magic." Since their inception they have slowly built up their brand, and have been focusing more on playing cards. They began releasing some playing card products, launched a website, and in 2016 released their Bomber Series Playing Cards as their own branded deck. Eventually they set up the Bomber Playing Card Company in order to focus on the design, manufacture, sale, and distribution of playing cards, which the following year became part of the new Taiwan Playing Card Company. Today BombMagic is considered the official distributor of Taiwan Playing Card Company, and it includes a large online operation. But besides being a source for magic items in the Asian market and abroad, they also produce a range of custom playing cards, some of which they have created in-house and are featured below. Of special interest is the fact that their decks are printed in Taiwan, which is also where respected playing card manufacturers like Legends and Expert Playing Cards operate from in order to produce high quality playing cards. TWPCC has their own label and specifications, but uses the same factory, so there's good reason to expect good things from this brand. So let's take a look at some of their decks, and talk about what we can expect from this smaller playing card manufacturer. https://preview.redd.it/twksnpjmcy061.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf78f9f9daaab0667214d062a11b44379a9ab45e CASINO ROYALE PLAYING CARDS The name Casino Royale reflects the fact that this deck is created to be a practical casino style deck that represents the height of luxury. The title brings to mind James Bond's visits to Europe's most famous gambling houses. Similarly this deck is intended to capture something of a quality that is fitting for a classy secret agent and for royalty, while being suitable for an enthusiast playing a poker game at home as well. BombMagic has produced several different Casino Royale decks, and they are definitely the most practical of the in-house decks from TWPCC. The number cards are very functional and readable, and that makes this a deck of playing cards that can perform well for crossover purposes, including at the card table or in the hands of a traditional gamer. They work especially well for casino type games, while having a "royale" look that sets them apart from a typical deck of plain ordinary cards. The touch of royalty is already evident from the tuck box, with its window style die-cut design that gives a glimpse of the stylish card backs. The colourful diamond backed design of the card backs adds a sense of luxury and class, and so the Casino Royale decks will add elegance and style to any card game. https://preview.redd.it/hjad2o37dy061.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e49d9a540a3a62aedd4f0be78a0c72f0b9c73b60 FUJIN & RAIJIN PLAYING CARDS The Fujin & Rajin decks are a complementary pair of decks named after two Japanese gods. These are Fujin, the god of the wind, and Raijin, the god of thunder. Blue and red being the two colours of focus for this pair of decks. UK illustrator Fionn Jordan did the artwork, drawing on his experiences in living in Japan and Taiwan, and his experience as a comic artist. These decks have a very different visual feel from the Casino Royale decks. While it has a clearly Eastern theme and style, it has been produced by a Westerner who was born in the UK. The Japanese theme will particularly appeal to those who have an interest in Oriental culture and ideas, but the fact that it has been created by a European shows that this theme can have a universal appeal. Most custom decks from the modern era are indebted to Western influences and artwork, so it is refreshing to see some playing cards with a unique flavour. The combination of a garish blue and red that dominates these decks also gives them a very different feel from traditional playing cards. https://preview.redd.it/oeljtj0idy061.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=67e808d8ccf4dc79311d37ec4580186b47de4264 CARDISTRY CALLIGRAPHY PLAYING CARDS The Cardistry Calligraphy decks were first released at the 2017 Cardistry Con. The series consists of three decks, a red and blue pair with silver foil lettering on the tuck box, and a more luxurious limited edition gold foil deck with gold accents on the tuck box and on the card backs. The graphic design of the striking Cardistry Calligraphy decks favours card flourishing, with a bold colour on the card backs that emphasizes colour and shape. The use of ornate calligraphic letters for the court cards is somewhat unusual, but suits the concept of the deck well, especially when used for cardistry. It means that the card faces have a more consistent look, and don't have images that could distract when the cards are in motion. The design of the court cards and Aces does make these less functional than a typical deck, but that's also what makes it ideal for cardistry. The concept of calligraphy - with its flowing lines and curves - also works very well as a thematic concept that suits card flourishing. https://preview.redd.it/hu0fajx2fy061.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a5d9522142887e023dac67311754fa4e7f2bfaa HIDDEN KING PLAYING CARDS The two basic decks that were part of the Hidden King series were intended to be low-cost decks inspired by the Siberian Tiger. The tuck boxes both feature the same graphic design, with a mono-coloured drawing of a Siberian tiger on the white and yellow fronts. The goal of the Hidden King deck was to be a budget style traditional deck, with some style and life added courtesy of the artwork on the card backs, and some small elements of customization. Given how nice and clean and practical the cards look, I'd like to think that this mission was accomplished with style. Super soft cards ensure a very pleasant and satisfying performance to go along with the crisp artwork. https://preview.redd.it/nqteb7qxdy061.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5828725d042455cdacf6f37c738826adfcb380b1 IMPRESSIONS Quality What's going to be of real interest to us as card enthusiasts is the quality of the cards from these TWPCC decks, and how they handle. Card collectors and card flourishers are notoriously fussy about where their playing cards are produced, because it can make a big difference in quality. The good news is that these playing cards are produced in the same factory that is used by Legends and Expert Playing Card Company. It is located in Taiwan, and reports about playing cards printed there are consistently positive, unlike the mixed reports about decks produced in China. The printing quality of the TWPCC decks seems to be very similar to that of LPCC/EPCC decks. It's very good, with sharp and accurate registration, and clean colours. Like other Taiwan produced decks, the cut of all these decks is extremely clean, so the edges of the cards don't feel as rough as a standard Bicycle deck; they also faro perfectly and easily. The cards of all these decks are very durable, but don't expect fanning and spreading to remain as consistent over time as what you'd typically experience with a USPCC produced deck. https://preview.redd.it/iudbzmfqey061.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4d03a971def8b051c37e845bdfed8a42ef8529c Performance The performance does also depend on the combination of stock and finish they use, and this can vary. TWPCC uses their own terminology for paper stocks and finishes, so it doesn't compare exactly with the terminology of finishes used by other publishers. The main stock options they appear to make available at present include their Casino stock and their Luxury stock, although they have also used Artist stock for at least one project, which like the Artist stock used by HCPC, is a stiff stock matching the Diamond/Master finish used by LPCC/EPCC. Casino stock is used for the Casino Royale decks and the pair of Japanese inspired Fujin and Raijin decks. It has a wide embossing pattern that approximates quite closely the Elite/Damask finish used by LPCC/EPCC. The cards have a slightly stiff feel that ensures a high level of durability, and it is firmer and pleasantly snappier than a typical USPCC deck. The overall handling and feel is much like the Classic or Elite finishes from Taiwanese manufacturer LPCC/EPCC. Luxury stock is used for the Hidden King decks, and handles and feels very differently. Besides the crisp white colour used for the card stock of these decks, it is instantly evident that this is a thinner than normal card stock, which cardists will love, and which corresponds quite closely to the performance and feel of USPCC's crushed stock. I find that it's almost too soft for some card sleights, because accidental folding can result if you're overly aggressive with your moves. But the soft feel means the deck doesn't require any breaking in, and it handles superbly straight from the box. If you like decks with crushed stock from USPCC, then you'll love these cards also. They also have a more traditional air-cushion style embossing pattern that handles smoothly and evenly. The different stocks primarily refer to the thickness of the cards and the embossing pattern used. There are also different options for the coating that is added afterwards, which impacts the performance as well. The options for this include Magic Finish, Royal Finish, or Legendary Finish, which is similar to the range that Hanson Chien Production Company (HCPC) also uses when printing cards at the same factory. https://preview.redd.it/7yy6sohyey061.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc94bd49a084d916bd75f6d8d30aa911eba1643c Other decks Of course these are not the only TWPCC produced decks out there. There are plenty more, and cardists will especially want to check out some of the decks with the super soft Luxury stock, such as the Vigor Blue deck and the Flow deck. Meanwhile the Kete Moon Special Edition deck uses the Classic stock. Magicians might be interested in the Elemental Master decks (in red and green), which are marked decks, and also incorporate unique elements like astrological signs and ESP symbols. The red and blue Cosmos decks were created to commemorate Horret Wu becoming FISM World Champion of Magic in 2015, and use the Casino stock. https://preview.redd.it/it9ujk5cey061.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ff312d997421b25c9b95475de2ad92cf9cc6f1c Where to get them?
